works great until the motor burns out, terrible warranty : Earthwise 50120 20-Inch 12 amp Electric Mulching Lawn Mower with Grass Bag

This is my first and only mower. I was very happy with it for the 4-5 cuttings that I got out of it. While the last cut the motor just locked up and burnt on me. I had cut the grass just a consolidate of weeks before. The mower locked up on old/new mulched grass in my backyard. I take good care of all my equipment and cope with care.
It was still under waranty and I mailed/called Earthwise up who directed me to take the mower to an authorized heal shop. The heal shop is 20 miles from my place, and they have now sat with the mower for 4 weeks. Every time I call them they are getting parts from Earthwise or waiting for claim approval. The feedback I got from the heal shop is that electric mowers are new and takes a while for Earthwise to process the claims). I still wait for the mower, and am choosing if it will be economy to just buy someone else one.
I like the mower and the fact that it is 'more' environment friendly, but am very disappointed with the assistance I have received.
If you buy this mower, I hope it never breaks down on you. Good luck.

The lawnmower rates a five but i had to take a star off for the bent wheel height adjuster which broke off when i bent it back. Contacted Amazon and I am waiting for their response. Starts extreemly easy. The mower is quiet and mulches very well. Even damp grass unlike some other reviewers have said.great value just fix the containers Amazon.

First electric mower...great first impressions : Black & Decker MM1800 18-Inch 12 amp Corded Electric Lawn Mower

I was getting tired of 1) my gas-powered mower giving me issues and 2) having to rule what the qoute was (spark plug? clogged filter? bad gas?). So I decided to buy an electric mower. After reading dozens of reviews, and not wanting to have to replace a battery every two years with a cordless mower, I picked up the Mm1800 at a local brick-and-mortar store.

I've had this mower for 3 weeks now. Plain and simple, I love it.

Assembly was very easy; it took about 10 minutes to attach the handle. It comes with padded cope grips already attached (but not pictured), so your hands aren't rubbing against bare metal. It has a lever for the simultaneous height adjustment of all four wheels. I like to mulch when I mow, so I don't use the bag to catch the grass clippings. You will need a 100' cord to mow comfortably; I'm fortunate adequate to have outlets on 3 sides of my house, so it reaches the outer edges of my 1/4-acre lot with plenty of cord to spare.

Mowing with a cord will take a puny convention at first. I now have a pattern where I mow closest to the house first and then mow away from it, keeping the cord in the middle of the house and the mower. I don't have any serious issues with power; the mower gets a puny slower in thicker, taller grass, but so did my gas mower. The noise level is not as quiet as I opinion it would be, but it's not as loud as the gas mower (to me, it sounds like my leaf blower, but muffled quite a bit). I used one reviewer's tip and sprayed Pam underneath the mower. It unquestionably works...cleanup is a breeze.

Considering that I don't have to worry about spark plugs, oil, gas, filters and tune-ups, along with the added benefit of not having to breathe noxious fumes, I'm very happy with my purchase.
